Ugh...I really don't feel very good this morning.  It's taking all the energy I have this morning to get in my car to trek to work.  Right now I just feel like I want to crawl into a hole and die.  Soooooooooooo tired.  I don't think I can take this damned job anymore....or the commute for that matter.

For some reason, I'm feeling awful mentally tonight...or maybe because I'm sick and tired of a lot of things...

I'm sick and tired of the Redskins not winning in the playoffs...

I'm sick and tired of the price of gas...

I'm sick and tired of getting up before 5am..

I'm sick and tired of my commute...

I'm sick and tired of traffic...

I'm sick and tired of the Government...

I'm sick and tired of the mainstream media..

I'm sick and tired of the President...

I'm sick and tired of Congress...

I'm sick and tired of Democrats...

I'm sick and tired of Republicans....

I'm sick and tired of renting...

I'm sick and tired of the lack of storage space...

I'm sick and tired of being fat...

I'm sick and tired of not having a better libido...

I'm sick and tired of not spending enough time with my wife-to-be..

I'm sick and tired of weekends going by too fast...

I'm sick and tired of BEING tired...

I'm sick and tired of having bad dreams every night (most of which I don't remember when I wake up)...

The only thing I hate about the holiday season is when it's over, and you have to take down the Christmas tree...it's VERY depressing!  Amy and I had a very nice first Christmas together.  She spoiled me rotten!  I got some very nice shirts and sweaters, a martini glass set, and a cocktail shaker!  Right now, I'm having my first homemade Martini (Dry with gin of course!).  The only thing that's missing is the olive...  Of course I'll have to try other things besides Martinis, such as Manhattans.

I'd like to think I spoiled Amy too.  I got her a couple of knitting books that she desperately wanted, little knitting goodies stuffed in her stocking, lotto tickets including a New Year's Millionaire raffle ticket. a gift certificate to a local yarn shop, and a Haiku to Go knitting bag.  It was a very nice, relaxed Christmas morning.  After that we went over to her Mom and Dad's and hung out for a while and opened up more gifts!  Amy got a Kitchinaid Mixer and a food processor!!

In the early evening, we all went out to my parents place and snacked on hor'duerves, and had a great time.  We had for dinner the classic standing rib roast and yorkshire pudding.  It was a very nice meal, and the company was great!

Amy, I hope you feel better soon!!  I love you!

I came into work today to some good news..I placed fourth in August's Closing Contest! I closed 33 loans last month, and I won 25 bucks!  Top prize won $100 plus 2 free hours of annual leave...that would've been nice, but I'm just happy to win something especially when I'm the new one in the section.  I also happened to check my email, and I got a coupon for a free oil change at the dealership, which was just in time because I had to get my oil changed tonight!

I've been seriously thinking about getting inked this weekend.  I've been thinking about getting the ancient Egyptian symbol, the ankh tattooed on my left arm..any words of encouragement out there??

That ladies and gentlemen is one of the first two scented container candles that I've ever made (I gave the other one to Amy's parents)!!  I'm actually kinda proud of myself--I didn't make a huge mess and I didn't catch the kitchen on fire!  I bought this soy container candle kit from   Bitter Creek Candle Supply.  It came with two fragrance oils creme brulee and verbana berry.  Pictured up above is the verbana berry scent.  I have no idea what a verbana berry looks like or what color it is, but it does smell good.

This morning I was witness to one of the coolest things you can watch in the sky; a lunar eclipse!  I know this picture doesn't do it justice, but every time you blink, more of the moon disappeared.  I really thought this picture would turn out better, but I guess there are still some things that require a telephoto lens which I do not have.  Oh well, I still thought it was really cool to watch :-)

It's been a long while since I've been bloggin' again, but I really want to get back into it.  Being in front of a computer after a long day staring at one is pretty hard sometimes.   A lot has gone on since I've last visited blogland. I've become medicated, gotten engaged to the love of my life, got a promotion at work as a Mortgage Processor/Closer, got a new car, work, work, work, and had a birthday, LOL.  Working the schedule I do makes life a blur sometimes.

Becoming medicated has been a real saving grace for me.  For years I've been living with this damn anxiety problem, being told by people to just suck it up.  All along I thought I had a problem, and if it wasn't for Amy I never would've gotten help!  It's so nice to be able to focus on different things and not freak out and fall into depressive episodes.

It's now been a couple of months since I've popped the big question, and now we're fast approaching a year until we tie the knot.  I never thought by now we'd already have the big stuff already set up!  We reserved the Unitarian Universalist Church for the ceremony (her dad will perform the ceremony), we've got the reception already set up, and we want to have our honeymoon in San Francisco (I've always been intrigued with that city...now all we have to do is save up for the trip).

It's been almost two months since I started my new position in Navy Federal as a Mortgage Process/Closer (doing the closer part right now).  Lemme tell ya it's quite a change from the Credit Card department.  A lot more to do, a lot more to worry about, and I like it!  The wholesale, and the subprime crashing hasn't worried me a bit at all (that's the joy of working for a credit union), we're still as busy as ever.  The only thing that sucks about my new position is the drive, because with the change in hours, I had to drop out of my car pool.

And with the upgrade in salary came a new set of wheels.  I am now in debt for the next five and a half years paying off my new 2007 Honda Civic, and I couldn't be happier.  What a great car!  It's nice to have an automatic in stop and go traffic, and much better gas mileage than my Saturn.  I'll be putting A LOT of miles on it, and I hope I can drive it for a very long time.

After all this, I somehow turned 26...how I don't know, lol.  It was a very good birthday.  Amy got me a really nice set of poker chips (now all I have to do is find people to play!) and a poker strategy book by Dan Harrington. Thank you!!  Amy and I had a really nice dinner with my parents at the restaurant where we're going to have the rehearsal dinner (The Continental).  Saturday night we had my future in laws and my parents over for dinner to discuss the wedding.  It was so nice to have everyone together, and we all seemed to be having a great time.

Now, the next thing I have to look forward to in the very near future, is a trip up to New York to see Amy's friends and going the Rhinebeck (sp?) for the yarn festival.  I can't wait to see y'all!

Last night I had a little realization that I still have some things to learn in the man department, which isn't a bad thing at all.  I'm happy to learn new things, especially in that "other department" *wink wink* That's just the type of person I am.  I strive for improvement.  I'm not perfect, but I'm not a horrible boyfriend I'm told :-).  It's a good thing to know that their is still room for improvement.  I'm not very telepathic, so sometimes it's good to find out where you stand on certain things.  After all, if Amy didn't mention certain things I'd be totally oblivious.  If I didn't know what was wrong, and I sense it, I would get very very paranoid, which is not a good thing for me to do.  Women need to feel loved, and just doing the dishes, taking out the trash, etc. is not enough (which I knew already, lol).  It's good to get a little nudge every once in a while.  Eventually I've gotta become Mr. Perfect!

On a side note, if you are ever going to buy jewelry DO NOT go to Kay Jewelers!!  The whole buying experience was a huge fiasco.  The sales pitch wasn't all that bad, but apparently it was near impossible for them to do something as simple as resizing the ring, and changing out the sapphire stones for amethyst.  Needless to say I got jerked around...it shouldn't take almost two months to get a damn ring.  When I went back to the store to complain, the manager didn't step in AT ALL to make sure I walked out of there happy.  It's pretty much like they don't care about my business at all.  The salesman was a little to quick in just offering a full refund, which of course I accepted....ARRRRG! Back to square one.. This time I actually know what she wants which is a good thing!! Now this will be an even bigger surprise!!

Yeah, I know it's Tuesday, but I thought I'd blog a bit about the weekend.  I'd have to say that this has been one of the best weekends I've had in a while.  It was nice to see Amy feel a bit better, and hopefully soon she will get her test results back so they can figure out what's wrong!  I'd never thought time would ever be precious, but seeing how our schedules differ so much, any time we can spend together especially on the weekends is important.  We went to the mall (wink wink), and I dropped some serious money and didn't even think twice!  Everybody knows that's rare for me.  Yes, I finally got a new pair of shoes (with a lot of prodding from Amy).  The only minor disappointment was Grindhouse was not playing in Winchester anymore, go figure.  After the mall we came back to our place and had a nice homecooked meal and watched Stranger Than Fiction (GREAT MOVIE).

Sunday, we had a nice dinner at my parents place.  It was so nice to see the conversation flow easily.  I can tell Amy feels comfortable with my folks, and that makes me happy! All in all, I'd have to say I was really happy this weekend..

Well..I've finally gone and bought one of those iPod shuffles. I figured it's finally time to get with the program and get one of these things. I didn't shell out a whole lot of money (only $80).  I think it'll get some good use; after all, I'd like to listen to some music on the days I'm not driving in the carpool to work.

Things are starting to look up. I'm finally getting some actual rest during the week with some help from a melatonin supplement.  Amy will be having a meeting with HR this week. Hopefully the HR Rep will follow through and make things right for her.  Last night, my parents took us out to dinner.  We had a great time, and great conversation..It seemed like Amy was having a good time. I can already tell my folks really like her (they always have!).

Hey everyone,
I know it's been a loooong time since I last posted here.. Amy and I are all settled into our new place, and things are great.  Since, we've moved in we've had two freakin' winter storms.  Thank god spring is just around the corner.  Amy and I are both eagerly awaiting the arrival of Katie to visit our neck of the woods.  The real frustrating thing about this latest winter storm is that we were planning a dinner get-together with my parents to see our new place, but with the weather, they couldn't make it.

I finally broke down and went to a health foods store to get some multivitamins...maybe that's why I've had no energy for the past month or so...I must be starving for nutrients lol.

Last night,  I came across a website called paperback swap. It's a really really good idea!  It's a cool way to get back into reading again.  It's just about totally free to participate, except for the postage it costs when you have to send a book someone requests, but it doesn't cost more than a couple of bucks.  One day after listing my books, someone already wants one!

As far as updates, this is pretty much it for now...

Woohoo!!!!!! I don't know how I did it, but my wireless connection works! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY I'm relieved lol.  Technology can be so frustrating, and to make it work sometimes happens by accident. Amy, if you read this, bring your computer over I think yours will work now. It was just a router issue (I'm pretty sure).

Sorry I haven't been posting as much as I should, I think I finally have some energy now. I've got some good news to report. I finally found a car pool with three other people at work!  It's nice to know that I'm not the only one that travels from afar.  I'm going to join the carpool next Tuesday after MLK day.  I can already see the monetary benefit....I won't be filling my gas tank evey other day, and I won't be getting an oil change every month!!  The other benefit which is just as good is that I'll have my sanity, lol.  It'll still mean that I will have to change my routine yet again; but I'll be getting off of work a half hour early by working the 7:30-400 shift.

Work all in all has been going well. I'm starting to notice now that my training is starting to accelerate a little bit, which is a good thing...:-)

I got all excited today to go out to walmart and get a cheap wireless router to go along with the wireless network adapter Amy got me for Christmas...and guess what....it doesn't fit! After cursing for over an hour I did some reading in the owner's manual for my laptop and found out that it takes an "Express Card" WTF????? I looked online for a wireless express card and saw that they were over a hundred bucks....YIKES.  Not to fear...I stumbled across Ebay "express" and they had a few for about 42 bucks with shipping...YAAAAAAY. So it looks like I'll be ordering from Ebay tomorrow, lol. I hate technology..it's so freakin frustrating!!!!

New Year's weekend was great though..I got to ring in the New Year with the woman I love, what more can you ask for? I also have my very own sushi chef too. Amy is the bomb at making sushi!!

Oh, and I am going to try to make my ass post more to my journal...I know I've been neglecting this blog and my other one too...

Well, I'm a little relieved right now...after my friend's moment of stupidity I think it's just about gone....The other day while he was waiting for me by my apartment, he wrote something stupid in pen on VINYL SIDING!  Talk about horrible timing..this Saturday my property manager is coming by to meet Amy and me to go look at a two bedroom apartment, and he defaced the outside of my apartment! Needless to say I was pretty pissed off... On the bright side, he didn't write it in HUGE LETTERS, but it still stood out.  He's going to be coming by tomorrow to finish off the job of cleaning it up.  He had a really good suggestion, which worked pretty well. TOOTHPASTE! It pretty much took most of it off!  He's going to try WD-40 to get the remnants wiped out....

I'm really looking forward to Saturday, and the prospect of Amy and me getting an apartment together, and I know she's excited too.  I'm also getting my eyes checked, which it's been waaaaaaaay too long since the last check up.  I can't believe Christmas is only a few days away....

I'd have to say this past weekend was a good one. On Sunday, I hung out at Amy's place, did some laundry, and tried out her homemade fudge! Boy am I hooked, I'll have to get her to make it more often. The only thing that was a disappointment was the Redskins (big surprise). They got out to an early lead and just quit...oh well.  Anywho, that's not why I'm not posting. Today when I came into work, I overheard my supervisor talking about what Christmas gift she got from the president when she first started. Then, she came around to my cubicle and mentioned that she wasn't sure if I would get anything since I just started. Five minutes later she came back with a little card, and said "You sure do get something!" I opened it up and it said 300 dollars has been added to your paycheck this week, Happy Holidays! From the President of NFCU. That totally blew me away, how cool is this Credit Union?! And yes, of course taxes are going to be taken out of that, but hey ya can't beat a little bonus.  A senior specialist also showed me a way to see how much the direct deposit will be before it even posts to my account.  Next Wednesday is our little holiday luncheon, and we're going to be able to head home right afterwards (it'd only be about an hour early). I think it's safe to say that I'm feeling right at home at work so far.

Boy am I spoiled..I've got the greatest girlfriend. I come home after a long commute and she has dinner done, and it was a very good one too! Krab kakes..yum.  I'm glad she likes to cook, and I do too.  I'm glad things are calming down a bit with Amy's family, and that she's feeling a little bit better. It certainly not fun when a family member has a terminal illness, I've gone through just about the same thing with my grandfather.  Training at work so far isn't going to badly; I'm liking it so far.  Sorry for the short post but I'm exhausted, and I have to get my ass to bed.

I'd have to say that this weekend was one of the best that I've had in a while.  I "slept in" (till 8:30am), and I closed one of my bank accounts that I haven't used in a long time, and I got a much needed haircut.   Matt needed some help moving some furniture during the day, and lemme tell ya moving that sleeper sofa is a pain in the ass! It took a total of three people to move it.  Amy and I  went out for some good Mexican food, and curled up in front of the tv afterwards and watched Comic Relief 2006. And of course the end of the night was unbelievable (hehehe). Amy and I have a Weekend breakfast tradition of going to the Waffle House. I don't know what it is about that place, but I love their greasy food!

This week at Navy Federal is N.E.T. Training (New Employee Training). The trainers all seem nice and cool, and they're doing a pretty good job at trying to make the material fun with activities and all that stuff.  It felt pretty good to be a little ahead of the game with the filling out of the tax paperwork, and the bank account stuff.  I think I can finally say that I have an understanding of Navy Federal's PPO plan, and yes there are doctors in Winchester that are in-network! Urgent Care is even covered!  My work also has a really good 401(k) program too. They match your contributions dollar for dollar up to 6%. As my dad always says you gotta go for the 6%, where else are you going to make that kind of an immediate return on your investment?!?

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!!

Well, I figured that I would finally take the plunge and make a LiveJournal blog.  Amy and her friends usually use the LJ blog. I now have four blogs, lol. I'm going blog crazy! I'm not really using my  blog anymore. If anyone wants to check out some of my other stuff, you can check it out  here  and here.

Last week was my first week at the new job with Navy Federal Credit Union.  I'd have to say that I do like it so far(which is a very good thing), and everyone I work with is very nice and helpful.  My training has been kind of backwards. My first week was the actual on the job stuff(shadowing other coworkers, learning a couple tasks, etc.). Starting tomorrow is the whole new employee training stuff which will be a company-wide new employees thing. The only thing that sucks is the commute. At times you can breeze right through, and other times it's stop and go. It's a typical type commute, and you have to take each day on the road with a grain of salt.
